ABM Spring Meeting Follow Up

by admin on May 12, 2008

I just returned from American Business Media’s Spring Meeting in La Quinta, California and overall I was pretty impressed with the event. After attending many other events in the past it was a refreshing experience to meet so many new faces and encounter so many people excited about the transformation of the industry. That seemed to be the theme of the week – Transforming the Media World into a Digital Media World. Sessions focused on topics such as the Green Movement, M&A Activity within the industry, how issues in our industry are being addressed in Washington, the power of face to face events…just to name a few.

I was able to grab some footage from a few of the sessions. In this post you can hear from thought leaders in the Social Media field as they share their insights on this powerful new movement and try to help publishers understand where it fits into their landscape.

The clip features Laura Chavoen, SVP of Digital Media, Imagination, Michael Weisfeld, Senior Internet Strategist, Business Online and Jeremy Morris, Executive Vice President, Director Digital and Custom Publishing, Campbell-Ewald. Each shares their thoughts on the question, “What is Social Media?”

I’ll post some clips from some of the other sessions when I get the time. Enjoy.
